BOP Fluid

BOP (Blow Out Preventer) fluids are trivial for the operation and reliability of the BOP control system.

For the SubSea hydraulic components to operate reliably and achieve performance, the supply fluid must remain clean and provide a minimum level of lubrication. Regular monitoring can capture reliable data that will allow them to track fluid quality and improve the reliability of the BOP control system and direct maintenance actions.

Reports and historical data indicate recurring problems caused by three main factors:

  • Contaminated water supply.
  • Inadequate Concentration.
  • Presence of microorganisms in the mixture.

Our test slate allows us to identify abnormalities such as inadequate concentration, pH changes, microbiological growth, conductivity, ISO 4406/4407 particle contamination, and system wear elements. If these parameters are out of the recommended range, can be obtained problems such as system corrosion, imbalance of microbiological cultures, and clogging of the filtering system.

Trend analysis of this data and correlation with known events and activity related to mixing, storage, and use of BOP fluids will help reduce downtime, reduce costs, and increase system reliability.
